It's in the title. I just upgraded and graphics are now painfully slow (even typing and scrolling etc...). On the fallback version of Gnome (without effects) it is fine but a hell of a lot less slick than with effects.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

Have you checked to see what video driver you are using. Ubuntu 13.10 has a fall back video mode called llvmpipe. I think of it as a subset of Nouveau, the open source driver. It is what we now get when we run Recovery Mode>Resume. The upgrade may have caused problems with the video driver. Some people get black screens after upgrading. I think that it is best when upgrading to a later version of Ubuntu to use the Nouveau driver for the period of the upgrade. And then set a proprietary video driver.

Regards.

Hi Graham,

Thanks for your input, how can I find out what video driver I am using?
