A simple program to convert avi files to a dvd

I am looking for a simple program to convert avi so I can pla y them on a dvd player

any ideas

I did the same a good while back, took a few avi files from my camera and stuck 'em on a dvd, take a look at :

You'll have to do a little reading, but that should get you started.
