When running Firefox 26 on lubuntu 13:10, sooner than later Firefox starts slowing down.
After a while, it will freeze
When it does, the panel display becomes blank and you cannot see ANY of the icons and tabs that should appear on the panel.
Also, even though the panel icons are not visible, they stkll work.
So if you click on where the "start" button is, the menus will appear and can be selected (although the process is like molasses on a cold winter day. Ditto for other icons like sound, or network.

The ONLY way to recover is to logout and then login.

(Running on a Dell Optiflex SFF with 8Gb Ram)

firefox 26 is very buggy, I'm going to downgrade it if the new version with bug fixes does not release soon...

I have removed Firefox and installed Chromium which works fine and lets me run up to 10 tabs per window. Past 10 tabs, it starts slowing down.
I am currently running 4 windows with a total of 28 tabs (10,4,8,6).
Firefox gets borked anytime I get past 5 tabs, and don't even try to run more than one instance
