Hi,

I'm attempting to install kdenlive from the ubuntu software centre but everytime I try it comes up with the error message that it has failed to download the packages and I should check my interent connection. Clicking more details I get:

Failed to fetch http://nz.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/l/language-pack-kde-en-base/language-pack-kde-en-base_12.04+20130128_all.deb 404 Not Found
Failed to fetch http://nz.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/l/language-pack-kde-en/language-pack-kde-en_12.04+20130128_all.deb 404 Not Found

However the internet connection looks fine to me; as in I'm using it right now.

So I'm at a bit of a loss. Are the packages just non existent? Is there another way I can get kdenlive?

try changing the repositories server: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Repositories/Ubuntu

or use a PPA to get later version. i think 12.04 verison is not a really good one. i couldn't get it to work well. i think i used PPA instead but i can't remember since it's been about a year from when i tried to install it.

Cheers. I'm not entirely sure what I did but I managed to get it to work somehow. May have just been a bad connecion afterall.
