I have been using Elementary OS for quiet some time now, and yet all of the sudden I have this:

Can someone explain how to fix this? I think Pantheon is what I am using for the visuals? I know elementary came with hotkeys like when you went to the top right corner I would get all the windows in one section... those graphics are not working anymore either.... If there is no easy fix I guess I should just re-install the whole thing but that sounds so cumbersome.

Also, I have been pressing alt-F4 and than doing a "sudo apt-get update" and upgrade as well... no luck.
edit - in the picture it shows a normal mouse! That is crazy because I get an X right now, and obviously all the black you see around my word-clock and dock are not supposed to be there.
