My now-fiance and I were at a decent restaurant and the waitress came up and gave us $100. She said another diner had given her the money to give to us, to pay for our meal. She was sworn to secrecy and wouldn't tell us who had given us the money.

Our bill at the end of the night was $104 - so the $100 given to us was basically the whole two meals, entrees, and one drink.

I never found out who gave us the money. In a way I'd love to know who gave us the money so I could thank them. In another way, I don't want to know - it's a great story to tell people and it made the night so much more memorable.
