View Full Version : [ubuntu] Drag windows to resize to full-size – like 1/2 size?

I looked around and tried a few keyboard presses, but found no way
to get a full-sized window (note, not maximized, but an almost-
maximized, full-size, to-the-edge-of-the-screen, yet draggable
window) resize to happen the way the 1/2 size windows are resized
when dragged to the right- or left-hand side of the screen. (Slick,
whoever thought of that. Let's see, where's my +1 button...)

Tile? Cascade? Maybe it's wrapped in there already but I'm just
finding it.

If this isn't integrated already, I'd like to know how to get it on
Ubuntu's Wish List.

Regards,

Dr Doug

You may configure this yourself using Compiz Config Settings manager in the "Grid" plugin under Window management. On the 'corners/edges" tab, change the action for "Top edge" from "Maximize" to "Fill Screen".
