Have searched endlessly, tried modifying my xorg.conf, disabling and enabling hardware accelleration both in flash and in firefox itself, nothing seems to help here. If anyone has gotten flash working well on 13.10 I'd really appreciate your help.

Already tried the xorg.conf settings in that thread. And my video isn't distorted, just slow and laggy.

The xorg.conf mentioned in the above thread is relevant for Intel 8xx graphics, not 9xx.

Aalison, does top indicate a heavy processor load when running Flash?

If you're watching from youtube, why don't you try using html5.

Yes, 80% or higher when plugin-container is active while watching a video.

I'm not watching YouTube, trying to watch TV on Fox.com.

Then I don't think there's much you can do. The Mini 9 is not strong hardware and with the processor nearly loaded to the max I guess it's as good as it gets.

Would an earlier distro be better to use then? Flash has been around for forever so I can't believe there is no way to make this work.

If you mean an earlier distro then don't go there. It's a security breach.

Though Flash has been here 'forever' the size, resolution and colour depth in the broadcasts have increased.

You could try Chrome and / or Chromium but I don't think it will make much of a difference.
