Hello and thank you in advance.

I just upgraded from 12.10 to 13.10 on my laptop. They told me to reboot and now I cannot boot the computer. It is saying "Asking for cache data failed" and on another line it says "Assuming drive cache: write through". It does not stop this loop and wont get me into my computer. I have no external media plugged in either (no sd card or dvd etc.)

Please help!

How did you upgrade? I'm assuming you mean you did a clean install of 13.10. If this is so, USB or disk?

Ah. Now that can be problematic. But please do a bit of research on your issue before posting. You might have a look here for clues:

The last post appears to be a fix. You might also find some clues here:

Hopefully someone will join in who can identify your issue straight up.

PS: This one is marked as 'solved':

Did you reboot or did you suspend or hibernate? You could try at the Grub menu to select the Advance Options for Ubuntu submenu and then select Recovery mode. At the recovery menu select Resume. Please note any error messages. Especially if the boot process stops.

Regards.
