Stumbled upon this while working night shift a few nights ago actually... My first tech/console/gaming experience was an Atari 2600... was fooling around with several games that brought back many blurry memories :p

Well, I got my nostalgia fix a while back with stella, MESS, and MAME.
But it's good to know that, from the comfort of a browser, anyone can now discover how pathetically easily entertained we were back in the 80's.

I dare you to spend more than 5 minutes playing any of those awful games.

I think it's very sad that the manufacturers of ancient consoles want to stop "ROMs" of the old games being released. The games are orphans IMHO, notwithstanding the argument that the intellectual property owners might re-release the games for smartphones. How much are they going to make selling the games as apps? A few dollars at most, there are better games available for free. If you look at the Console Living Room page at (https://archive.org/details/consolelivingroom)Archive.org (https://archive.org/details/consolelivingroom) you can see there are only a few people interested.

Having said that, I really really really (!!) want to play Chucky Egg, but I used to play that on a Sinclair Spectrum, which isn't one of the featured platforms. Seriously, I would pay maybe a couple of cents for the opportunity to play that piece of crap again!

I entertained myself through a 12 hour night shift (then again I was at work so anything could entertain me)...
