Hi.

I started investigating why my touchpad-indicator (https://launchpad.net/touchpad-indicator) is not working. I googled and found some pages mentioning xserver-xorg-input-synaptics package might be not installed.

I ran

sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-input-synaptics

And recieved an error i do not know how to fix :

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree

How can i figure out how to fix this?

I am using ubuntu 64bit 12.04

Weird thing is - i'm not sure if this is even an issue any more. Sure - i could not install the package, but after reinstalling touchpad-indicator and rebooting computer it is working again...
