I have installed ubuntu 12.04.3 and ubunto 13.10 on an HP a6400f deskside system. When the install starts trhe ethernet interface to the internet is up and sometimes also sometimes i'nstall updates' box is checked sometimes it is not. Clicking 'continue' UNSETS' the b ox and all access to the repositories fails thereafter includinstalling after the reboot. It looks like a DNS problem, so the question seems to be why is thre no name service out of the box?
