Ubuntu Software Center and terminal are slow downloading

Hey guy's why when i want for example do sudo apt-get install python-tk it take looooooooooooooooooooooong time downloading that I had to cancel. And same goes if I download a game or app on Ubuntu software center. Is it broken? Server slow? How can I fix it?

Have found Ubuntu Software Center to be slow most of the time and always preferred installing and using Synaptic Package manager instead.

You can also change download mirrors in Software & Updates under download from. You might not be using the best mirror for your location.

Let the mirror test in Software and Updates run to conclusion. Sometimes it seems to be finished, but it's not.

Also, it wouldn't hurt to run the test a few times on different days and times. During the week, for example, a mirror at a local university is easily my fastest mirror. But, on weekends, it's bog slow.
