Hi,

I've tried to install ubuntu to USB drives, but they only boot on PCs and very new Macs sometimes (not the ones older than or equal to 2010).
Anyway, I've given up on installing from .iso to USBs.

I am now thinking about an alternative way. Can I do the following:
1. Install ubuntu along side with Win 7 on my PC
2. Image this ubuntu to .iso file
3. Burn this .iso file to a USB
4. Boot this USB on PCs and Macs

Is this possible?

Thanks!

There is a lot of information how to do it at this link to a wiki page

There is also a reference to a current thread at the Ubuntu Forums about doing it for Macs
