Holy cow! I just turned on my Revo and got a shock. Talk about a fast bootup! That last upgrade must have added an extra dose of caffeine to my Ubuntu. :D

Huh :) I didn't notice any significant difference to tell you the truth.

Are you sure it wasn't on sleep?

Boot up has always been fast (~20 sec 10.04 and ~15since 12.04 and now less than 10s for 13.10, never had that kind of speed with Windows) It was logging in that took long (about the same as booting up until 13.04, when it became a lot faster)

Wouldn't know about speedups, I get a boot time of 5 seconds or less since 12.04. If it were to go any faster, it would boot before I press the power switch.:o

I've noticed a speedup as well with 13.10 on my machine. I'm also comparing it to Kubuntu which I have on another partition, and Unity boots much faster.

I'm using classic Gnome myself.
