I have created a bootable usb with UUI on windows 7 for ubuntu. Then I have plugged it into my netbook restarted and made the priority boot in the bios the removable device. Nothing happens. I also tried booting it in my mac.. Nothing happens. What can I do I have tried everything now and giving up :(
When I plug the men stick in my mac it is titled UUI.
But doesn't get recognised by either machine....

You could try something like Unetbootin and see if it makes any difference. Unsure of what is UUI.

tried it using my mac and looked promising but still was not picked up. if you insert the disk in when windows is booted it is picked up :(

some USB disks are made in a way that you can't boot from them.
try YUMI multiboot instead. see if it helps. i think that one adds a bootloader not just flags it as bootable.
also try a different USB if you can. i find that toshiba USB drives work well.
