Trying to install Ubuntu-Gnome on a Dell Latitude D620 laptop. Booted fine in Live Mode, but during installation hangs (for over 30 minutes so far) at
ubuntu-gnome ubiquity: DNMS: install completed.

Did this twice.

Above the log window, it says "Configuring bcmwl-kernel-source.

Machine is a Pentium M from about 2006.

It's plugged into ethernet.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Are you able to install using the minimal ISO (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/MinimalCD)?

Thank you for the suggestion. I was able to install from mini.iso. I didn't see Gnome, so I chose Lubuntu. I'm going to check it out. I really wanted Ubuntu-Gnome, to match my desktop, but if I can't have it, I can't.

Best,
Ed

Once you have the minimal system installed and applied all updates you can install any desktop environment. I stopped using Gnome myself after 10.10 so I can't guide you further on this one, sorry.
