Hello

I need some pieces of advice from you.
Cisco contacted me for a job interview for Associate Network Consulting Engineer position some days ago and after that I received a positive feedback. Now I have to attend a full day assessment, but I don't have any ideas about the arguments I have to prepare for that day.

I don't have any CISCO certifications and to be honest I don't have a deep networking knowledge; I know only basic stuff, nothing regarding secuirity or ios.
Do you have any pieces of advice for me? Do you have a guide that I should study?

Thanks in advance

Just go read up on stuff osi model, routing, switching, mpls etc. Also know the comapny and what they do.

The assessment is probably something along the lines of aptitude & personality profiling. Did you ask them what the assessment is about?
They will probably put whomever they hire on a rapid development & training program to get them up to scratch anyway so I would not worry about prior experience/training as the program takes care of that if I'm not mistaken.

Good luck!

Ok... so do you think that it is not necessary knowing something about ios or having pratical knowledge of networking?

Go read those links I added. It won't hurt reading through a CCNA study guide etc.

You could read one of the Sybex books by Todd Lammle (http://eu.wiley.com/WileyCDA/Section/id-302479.html?query=Todd+Lammle) or the official Cisco guides, google is your friend ;)

Hi,

How did the phone interview go? I see from the other thread that it went well.
I also went through the phone interview and the reqruiter said that he liked me, but I should wait for the official reply from his managers.

Did yours tell you anymore information? Like when the in person interview will take place and where?
I'm curious about this since there are not that many information on the internet.
thanks in advance.

What kind of questions did they ask you in your phone interview? I've got my interview tomorrow.

what i can tell you is that it was one of the most interesting interviews that i had so far. the discussion was very relaxed and we talked about football and air travel. i guess he did that just so i could be relaxed (i told him that i couldn't sleep the night before :P)

about questions:
- nothing technically hard: ipv4 vs ipv6, skype vs normal telephony (regular user PoV and technical PoV)
- previous experiences: team leader experience, close to panic experience, stuff like that.
remember to ask questions.
