After having to dowload the iso in order to create a Live USB to install Ubuntu, I was finally able to go through the installation process without it telling me that something was missing.
At the same time I was installing the 32 bit version on an old netbook and it eventually worked fine.
On my Vaio 13 though, even though it installed fine eventually, the laptop was still not giving me boot options. So I ran the LiveUSB and ran the boot-repair.
The silly thing on my part is that I neither created a recovery USB for Windows or took down the log for the first two times the boot-repair ran.
As it is, I cannot boot into windows anymore and the last time I ran boot-repair, it gave me this
http://paste.ubuntu.com/6464375
the bootloader is still not working, any help would be appreciated, as a last resort I would be willing to erase the partitions and windows 8 but I would rather not as I may need Windows 8 at some point.
