after some modifications on a ubuntu 12.04 machine, this is not working anymore on the local network. the /home folder is shared in the network, as well as the network users.
the fstab file is ok, compared to the other machines working fine on the same network. I reinstalled nis, but I see that many files (e.g. /etc/default/nis) are missing. the result is that no network user can login on this machine, and the network share /home folder is not mount.
any hints?
