[E17] Graphic problem in the visualisation of pop-up notifications

I am using E17 on Ubuntu 12.04 and I am experiencing the following problem: the pop-up notifications that appear in the right-top corner of the screen are illegible.

Does anyone of you know if there is a way to fix this problem?

The notifications are Ubuntu generated and I don't think there is a way to adjust how notify osd appears from E17 . There are font rendering settings in E17 though. I used E17 from 11.10-12.10 and seem to remember a similar problem. The best way to get a fully functioning E17 on a Ubuntu base is via Bodhi Linux. The package in the Ubuntu repository has limited modules available.
