Hello!
I have an older computer that i want to put lubuntu on. I read somewhere that it's the best distro for older computers.
I don't know the exact specs, all i know is that it has 256 RAM, so the processor can't be all that powerful.
And, i can't get BIOS to show, and spamming DELETE key does nothing, so i can't get into BIOS.
BIOS aside (for now, it's a separate issue but i need the bios to show at some point if i want to change anything there), after that, lubuntu CD boots up normally.
I select "nomodeset" because it freezes otherwise, and it loads good, except, when i get to the actual installation part, the mouse doesn't work.
The pointer is there, but moving the mouse does nothing. It even "shuts dows" for a lack of a better explanation. The red light stops working. Unplugging the mouse and plugging it in again lights it up again, but it still doesn't work.
This is a new USB mouse. I tried plugging it in the PS/2 port with an adapter, but it still doesn't work, except the light doesn't shut down.
I tried using the keyboard, but nothing is happening no matter what i press. I don't know if that's how it should be, but regardless of that, i don't know how to install linux without a mouse, so the keyboard wouldn't do me much good anyway.
Maybe there's some option in BIOS that i should change for the mouse to work but i can't get into bios...
I tried selecting "Try ubuntu without installing", also with "nomodeset", but it doesn't boot up, probably because the computer doesn't have enough memory to do that
Please help, i don't know what to do.
