My Ubuntu 13.10 system runs pretty much flawlessly, but it will not restart. I have to force shutdown using the power button every time.
This holds true when I am just leaving for a week and want to turn it off and also when I complete software upgrades via the software center that pop up a "You must restart to complete the upgrades."
This did not happen in 12.04 which is what I upgraded from.
I am not terribly versed in command line stuff, but I am resourceful, so if you give me some things to check and report back on, I will do my best.
