Hi there everyone.

I just finished successfully installing Ubuntu Precise on my new Toshiba laptop alongside Windows 8 (with which the laptop came pre-installed).

However, when I boot up the PC, I am not asked to choose between Windows and Ubuntu - it just goes straight into Ubuntu.

I know the Windows 8 partition is still there (I can see it by browsing the filesystem in Ubuntu) and I haven't been messing with it or anything.

How can I get the option to boot into Windows 8 or Ubuntu?

This laptop has UEFI firmware, by the way.

Do you get the purple screen on startup?

You should always be able to use the efi menu to boot either ubuntu or windows. Make sure you have fast boot turned off in Widows and boot speed set to normal in the UEFI settings so you have a chance to type the function key to select efi menu (F12 ?)
