View Full Version : 13.10 HUD not returning anything at all

Been using Ubuntu and unity for the last 18 months having been a gentoo user many moons ago. Since I did the dist upgrade to 13.10 a few weeks ago the hud has stopped working, I press alt and the hud shows up on the screen but when I type anything it does give me any options at all.

I tried running hud-cli from the command line but I can't get it to work either even though the indicator-appmenu-tools package is apparently installed.

$ sudo apt-get install indicator-appmenu-tools

indicator-appmenu-tools is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 1 not upgraded.
$ hud-cli
The program 'hud-cli' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing:
sudo apt-get install indicator-appmenu-tools
$ hud-gtk
The program 'hud-gtk' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing:
sudo apt-get install indicator-appmenu-tools

Any help on getting this working without doing a wipe and a clean install would be appreciated.
