Freezing shortly after boot video loss

I can sometimes boot to the sign in screen before my screen goes jumbled or black.

Boot up in "recovery mode" and select the option: failsafeX
And if that not work than start further up (just click Enter)
Can you boot now to the desktop?

what graphics card do you have? And what driver you use?
