I have compiled and installed ffmpeg according to http://ffmpeg.org/trac/ffmpeg/wiki/UbuntuCompilationGuide.
Now I want to try out the gui front end for it WinFF. However when I go to synaptic and select the winff package it says ffmpeg is a dependency and it will download and install it from the ubuntu repos. I dont want to do that because it is already installed.
I dont know how to make synaptic ignore the dependency or make it recognize that ffmpeg is already installed.
Can someone help me?
