12.04 64bit: lined border interfering with window buttons

I am trying 12.04 on a spare computer. At the top of the desktop i have a lined border which quite often interferes with the window buttons as they are hidden by it.

Any way of turning off? Thanks.

I have taken the liberty of changing the title of your thread to something that actually describes your issue.

Generic titles like 'Desktop 12.04 64Bit' say nothing whatsoever about your issue and limit your chances of getting support. That title could refer to anything so why would anyone stop to look?

Good luck and please use descriptive thread titles in future to increase your chances of getting help. ;)

As to your actual issue, are you using the right screen resolution?
