Intel Celeron 2.66GHz, 1.2 GiB RAM,64MB VGA, 1024x768 Resolution monitor.

Lubuntu 13.10 will :-)

I think the only questionmarks are the graphics chip/card and wifi chip/card.

XUbuntu won't? Because im not a big fan of LXDE....

Yes I think it will, not quite as fast as Lubuntu but much faster than standard Ubuntu or Kubuntu.

If you prefer Xubuntu, I would recommend 12.04 LTS for old hardware. It is supported until April 2015.
