View Full Version : [ubuntu] 13.04 doesn't detect 13.10

This morning I was going to update Ubuntu but ran out of time because I had to go to school. So I cancelled the download process.
Now Ubuntu 13.04 doesn't even detect 13.10 at all as a release.

mike@mike-Compaq:~$ do-release-upgradeChecking for a new Ubuntu release
No new release found

I tried the Software Updater before the console and all it says is "Your computer is up to date" with the button "settings" and "close"

Do you have ticked on "Notify me on a new version: For any new version"? You should be able to change this by clicking "settings" in that pop-up window.

Run this command

lsb_release -a

if it says Codename: saucy then certain parts of the upgrade have taken place and the upgrade manager thinks that you already have 13.10. Run these commands

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

The second command does not upgrade from one ubuntu version to another. It upgrades the existing version but doing so by making intelligent choices. I am thinking that as you can load to ubuntu you might need to finish off the upgrade.
