I am running Ubuntu 13.10 and it's all good. My question: when I click on unity dash and type weather I get weather searches, but only for the USA. I live in Vancouver BC Canada and so what I want to know is there a way to set searches such as weather for my local area (Vancouver) and also is there a setting to change the Weather search provider to a local provider?
Thank you.

I see results for different state and I see no way to set a location . When I right click on the sun and cloud icons, results displayed are for the state of Pennsylvania . This is in a different time zone so results are not based on that setting and they are not specific to a city either.

I think that I have found a way to do this. Open the Dash - type your location (in my case London) and use filter results to filter by weather and you should get the weather for the entered location.
It is a bit more tricky if you live in a city with the name of a city in the US, such as Birmingham. In this case type Birmingham United Kingdom. We most definitely need to filter results by Weather for the location we are looking for.
I can tell you that the weather for Vancouver is looking sunny all week.

Just to add, for others:
If you can write the location in not-English, then it should your location just fine.
I think that I'd like to have (again) option to configure the dash plugins. :/

You can also use : to narrow/specify searches.
So for weather in Vancover CA something like this (Dash is sometimes better if you Don't complete search terms fully
weather:vanc
( : should work in most scopes, ex. for manpages
manpage:ffmpeg

It is the colon ( : ) after weather that does the trick. It acts like a shortcut to filter by weather. So, weather:Birmingham UK works and so does weather: Birmingham UK
I have nothing against Birmingham US, you understand. Just experimenting.
