Hi, I installed ubuntu-13.04-desktop-amd64 on a pen drive using Universal-USB-Installer-1.9.4.3, but when I try to boot, the system hangs, and I can't get past the first line (... H. Peter Anvin et al). I have a 64 bit Aspire 5551-A from Acer. I am using a 4GB USB key.

Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks!:)

Some have issues with download, have you verified it with md5sum?
Some have issues with installer, sometimes just redoing it or using a different one.
Some have issues with certain flash drives.

Most find this works best
http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/
If that does not work

I have used older Kingston & generic Microcenter flash drives without issue.

Brand of flash does seem to make a difference. One user's experience liked 32G Sandisk
