[SOLVED] how to fix slow kubuntu (kde) with nvidia

kde menu -- system settings --> desktop effects.
see the pictures for what worked for me.


I had enormous improvement so I wanted to share.
please reply if it worked (I am using debian with kde but it should be the same for kubuntu)



*I have the original nouveau driver (comes with regular installation haven't touched it) no nvidia proprietary driver.
* my system is:
intel E5500
4Gb ram
NVIDIA Corporation NV43 [GeForce 6600] (rev a2)
