Ubuntu in Chromebook

So I have searched about installing Ubuntu in Chromebook. But it's not clear if it's possible to remove the chrome os. I've just found instructions on how to create a dual-boot.
I want to install Ubuntu 12.04 and to remove the chrome os. I don't need the chrome os. Is that possible?
