View Full Version : [ubuntu] kvm disabled by bios during startup before X starts

kvm disabled by bios message comes up before display manager login appesrs.
light-dm shows logn and then vanshes.
installed gdm and now i can get ito ubuntu2. i dont know what it means
i have installed ubuntu-64 bit 13.10 on a usb stick
prior to first upgrade everything were fine.
after upgrade i have screen brightness control problems.
either i get a very bright screen or very dark screen
what problems i should look into?
i use toshiba sattelite C855D-S5232 amd 2 core processor and 4 gb RAM

13.10 has not reached full release yet. Stuff is still being fixed. You need to daily update and wait and see. This is what we do when we install a Ubuntu version before it is released.

Appears you have two problems. Fixing the KVM by enabling it in the BIOS.
What brightness control problem are you referring too - can't chane it, too bright. Did you open Settings and try to fix it there?
