About my MATE 1.6.0 install

Hello Good People!

I did two fresh installs of mate on two different laptops. On Laptop 1 everything when smoothly and no issues to report.

On Laptop 2 (DELL Inspiron 2200) there are many. See "Add Applet 1 & 2". Looking these pictures you can see that many indicators are missing.

Then if you look "Mate screenshot" here too is another issue. On my other laptop everythnig worked out of the box with no issue to report.

Under "Places" I noticed that "Search for files" is missing.

Then some advice in another post that I was given to go to Battery managegment this option too is missing.

At this stage is it wise to purge MATE all together an attempt another install?

How did you install?

The first obvious thing that comes to mind is that the missing pieces were not installed.

If you open Synaptic or a similar tool you could run a search on "mate" which will list the applets, etc., that are available in the Mate repo.

Thanks buzzingrobot for pointing me in the right direction. Went into Synaptic and installed a few packages and now I'm good to go.
