Hi!

I have a Toshiba Satellite C650D-ST5N01 (all stock, no modifications) and I am considering replacing Windows 7 with Ubuntu 13.04. I plan to test it with a live USB before committing to disc, but I was hoping to get some input from those who have installed Ubuntu 13.04 on this make/model.

Have you had any hideous problems? Was it a complete success with little or no hacking away?

Please let me know...

Thanks in advance.

I have a much older Toshiba that just works.

But have seen some models where wireless may need configuration or keyboard for brightness. Is this AMD or Intel based system? Intels seem to have fewer issues, but still depends on which combination of chips used in your build. LiveDVD or flash drive is a good test. But often live version uses lowest common denominator and actual install may not and need some extra updates.

I had a Toshiba Satellite C650 (don't know all the letters after that) set up to dual boot Windows and Ubuntu for a while. It worked fine.

Now seems OK (but slow).
