desktop glitching

im having a problem with my desktop screwing up it seems to be cut up in sections it shows parts of my wallpaper and its showing background color and it duplicates the icons i have anyone know how to fix this?

someone has got to have an answer im getting real tired of linux and all of its problems iv gone through ubuntu to kubuntu and lubuntu and everytime it starts out fine but overtime everything starts to break until i have no choice but to reinstall, why is linux os so unstable?
