I dislike having to use double clicks.

Is it possible to use a single click to activate a desktop icon (e.g. Firefox) in Ubuntu 13.04 in Fallback mode?

I was able to do this on both 12.04 Classic and Xubuntu 12.04.

I suspect that Ubuntu has hobbled 13.04 Fallback to stop single clicks being used.

If that is the case, is it possible to create a script or similar to accomplish single clicking on desktop icons?

Many thanks.

You can set under Files preferences (Files-->Files-->Preferences-->Behaviour-->Single Click to Open Items)

Hope that helps!
