Hi guys! I'm new here, so please bear with me.

I recently bought the Ubuntu OS last month and so far, all is well. I wonder if it can work well with audio to text conversion called ScribeOn (http://scribeon.com/)? Have you tried converting any audio/video files to text using this service? I would like to know your opinion about it.

I have not used scribeon, but I have used Google Voice. You leave yourself a voice message and you get back an email with a text transcription. Works pretty well. It depends on what your use case is. Otherwise you could load Dragon Naturally Speaking in a virtual machine or run it with Wine.

There are some google summer-of-code projects that use the Google Voice transcription API's to provide a similar service, but you will have to search for them. I don't know what level of maturity or usability for those programs. The google voice transcription accuracy is pretty good without learning, for anyone that has used it on an Android phone.
