I am stuck on the purple screen when trying to install Ubuntu 13.04 64bit. have tried multiple times on many different live CD's to install Ubuntu. I am using a HP Pavilion-g6 2244sa laptop. I have tried both 32 bit and 64 bit discs with the same outcome. I am using Windows 7 32 bit and wish to install them alongside with a partitioned drive. I was previously using Windows 8 but downgraded to Windows 7. Any help or advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Hello,

I don't know what your problem is, but it's probably due to a Disk-Drive error or something :/

Maybe you should try installing an Image to a USB Stick. Use: http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/

Hope this helps!

Kindest regards,

@ldfcldfcldfc (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=461148), verify that the media is OK - it is generally an option on livecds although given the fact that you tried two different versions one would hope that at least one livecd is OK. Have tried another distro such as Mint? A good one to use to test is Slitaz which is only 30 odd MB to download.
