New Dell XPS 8700 - cannot install Ubuntu 12.04

I have solved the "secure boot" issues. However, when 12.04 runs (or is installed) from Live DVD, the system hangs at a blank screen.
Monitor and cable are fine. Using wired Ethernet.
What diagnosis can I use?

What video chip/card?

Often video issue but could be other boot parameters are needed also.
