View Full Version : xubuntu 12.04 LTS upgraded directly to 12.04.3 is that OK?

Or should I have updated incrementally, via 12.04.1, 12.04.2 first?
Seems to be running fine. Just asking to make sure I didn't blow it.;)

It normal.
Any time you do an install, the updater, will update you to the newest software for that version.
The only thing not upgraded would be the kernel series and the X stack.

I updated using instructions on ubuntu site somewhere using the lts-raring ppa repository, so it did upgrade kernel and Xorg etc as well.

What ppa repo for lts-raring?
Those packages are included with the normal repos.

But no matter, even if you manually installed the raring kernel and x stack, it doesn't matter if you skipped the quantal series.
Or the over 30 kernel upgrades for the 12.04 3.2 series.
All you missed out on was wasted disk space.
