How often should I expect upgrades (new Xubuntu install)

Just wondering how often should I expect upgrades - it has been over a week since a new install of 12.04 Xubuntu and the only updates that have been reported have been kernel related. Before there new install, I had daily upgrades. Just seems weird to me....

Your are using a stable platform and for this reason you will receive only upates in case a bug got fixed or due to security reasons - it's a good sign. However in case you work with a development release you will receive a lot of updates due to application got updates, something was broken and got fixed and therefore you will receive many updates. You can check also online what got updated: http://www.ubuntuupdates.org/package_logs?utf8=%E2%9C%93&head_only=true&commit=Filter&noppa=1&vals=precise&type=dists&levels[security]=1&levels[base]=1&levels[updates]=1
