hi i have installed lubuntu on my panasonic toughbook and i have no sound , how can i fix this please

hi, sorry my system is panasonic toughbook laptop 1.6 processor pentium m i think 1.5gb ram 60g hard drive and i have the latest version of lubuntu 13.04 which was installed from disc downloaded from internet, i have no sound no brightness adjustment and monitor settings is missing from the menu have no idea why .hope this is enough info .
