Hi,

I installed Ubuntu 12.04.2 on my Sony laptop which came with a Windows 8 OS. I disabled SecureBoot and used a LiveUSB to perform the installation. Initially the system logged into Windows 8 automatically, and therefore I used 'Try Ubuntu Once' from the LiveUSB to install Boot-Repair and ran it. It reported a successful boot-repair.

Here's the link generated by it:

The system still logs into Windows 8 without letting me choose the OS.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Siddharth

Hello and Welcome

The link is fairly current and may be of interest . http://aahank.com/2013/change-boot-order-when-dual-booting-ubuntu-with-another-os/

Have you gone into UEFI/BIOS and from its menu chosen the ubuntu entry? You may need secure boot off.
