I am using an HP Envy m6. I have been doing a lot of reading on UEFI and thought that I understood it's workings. Trying to boot Ubuntu I made the following changes to the UEFI Bios:
* turned off Secure Boot
* turned on Legacy Boot
* changed the boot order to allow CD/DVD ROM to be the first device to be interrogated
I assumed that I had covered all the bases. I could finally see the CD/DVD light come on briefly but Ubuntu did not boot. After a few seconds Win 8 booted instead.
Any suggestions on what I have forgotten to do
