I'm having some serious issue with my system. I had installed Plymouth splash and decided to reboot to check the status of installation and now I cannot get anywhere. The system hangs during boot (seems to be at various command lines) and I cannot seem to access a terminal or anything. I simply force a reboot (CTRL+ALT+DEL) and try again. I need some serious suggestions. By pressing CTRL+ALT+F7 I can at least access a root terminal (just noticed while typing this). Thus, I can access files now. Anyone have a suggestion to restore this?

Anybody out there? If anyone just has a file that I could check, or a command that I could run to investigate something, ...

From the tty did you try removing what you installed previously?

Sorry, what I should have said was; I had installed some Plymouth splash themes. Honestly, I'm just reinstalling the entire operating system now.

Thanks anyway.
