Opera Preference File

How do I delete the Opera Preference file/folder I think it might be corrupt as I cannot change startup page. Using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

I don't have Opera installed now but I think Opera stores its settings in a folder called .opera, a hidden folder, which maybe in ~/ or in ~/.local (also a hidden folder).

In both cases, profile and mail files will be created in ~/.opera and ~/.opera/mail/ the first time the user runs Opera. Some profile files are not created until the features they belong to are used for the first time.From http://www.opera.com/docs/operafilesnix/
