If I follow these instructions will I get Ubuntu 12.04 alongside Vista?
1. Free up space in Vista.
2. Make a LiveCD.
3. Select the option to install alongside Vista.
Also, is it advised to defragment my drive before freeing up space in Vista?
Thank you!!!

Running the live CD will give you an idea how everything will work, so play around with it. Keep in mind it's a somewhat slow because it has to run form the CD. Bootable USB's work much quicker FYI
